Chinese herbal medicine is the use of extreme foods to alter how the body functions. By selectively changing the foods in the diet, the diet of the patient can support the prescribed herbal medicine. More importantly, by understanding how foods can function as medicine, changes in diet can be utilized when traditional herbs can not.
This is most helpful in infants and children, as well as any patients where there is a concern of traditional herbs interfering with biomedical treatments prescribed by a physician.
