Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture and Acupressure

Acupuncture as well as acupressure are medical tools. The use of which is determined by traditional diagnostic techniques. In Traditional Chinese Medicine there is an understanding of how the functions of the body are affected by outside influences. The various acupuncture points around the body provide locations where a particular stimulus will alter the functioning of the body. These points can be stimulated in many ways. Pressing on the points or sticking needles into the points, are common ways to teach the body to function a little differently. Like all efforts to teach and learn, this process of teaching needs to be repeated. Some people learn quickly, others do not. The rule of thumb is that the longer you have had a problem, the longer it is going to take to change.
